Brewers’ Davis says he got death threat on Twitter

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Brewers outfielder Khris Davis says he recently received a death threat on Twitter.

Milwaukee general manager Doug Melvin said Tuesday that the threat was turned over to Major League Baseball security. He said the team was told the situation had been “handled” and didn’t elaborate.

Davis says he got the threat in mid-May when the Brewers were in Chicago to play the Cubs. He referred to the matter as a “distraction.”

Melvin said “it is serious when that happens.”

“We were told it has been taken care of,” he said.
