Man burned in boat fire

MAYO, Md. (AP) — Fire officials say a man was burned in a fire aboard a boat in the Mayo Ridge Marina.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Michael Pfaltzgraff tells The Capital of Annapolis (http://bit.ly/1kFBwHc ) that the 50-year-old man was doing maintenance on a boat motor about 11:10 a.m. Monday when a flash fire occurred.

Pfaltzgraff says the man had second-degree burns over 20 percent of his body. He said the man was flown to the Johns Hopkins Burn Center in Baltimore with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
