Hang glider crashes into James River, 1 injured

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police say one person was injured after a hang glider with an engine crashed into the James River in James City County.

State police spokesman Sgt. Michelle Anaya tells media outlets that the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Anaya says the passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center. The pilot refused treatment.

No other details were immediately available.
