Police charge 19-year-old with murder in Va. death

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) — Prince William County police have arrested a teenager after a fatal stabbing in Woodbridge.

Police say they were called to the 1900 block of Darlington Loop on Friday around 1 p.m.

Police say when they arrived they found an adult man on the sidewalk suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. The man, 22-year-old Lawa Weah of Dumfries, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say an investigation revealed that Weah had argued with a man living in a home on the street and was stabbed during the argument.

Police arrested 19-year-old Mykell Kyree Anderson in connection with Weah’s stabbing and charged him with murder. He is being held without bond. Police say Anderson and Weah knew one another.

An attorney representing Anderson declined comment Saturday.
