H Street stabbing sends 2 to hospital

WASHINGTON — One man is in custody and two men are in the hospital after a stabbing around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Twelve Restaurant and Lounge.

One man suffered stab wounds and was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

The other victim is in grave condition after suffering deep lacerations to his face. He was found unconscious, unresponsive and bleeding heavily from his face before being transported to the hospital, according to District police.

Police have 21-year-old DeChristian Angel Simmons in custody and he is being charged with felony aggravated assault.

D.C. police spokesman Officer Araz Alali says this is a “solid gold investigation that exemplifies the unrelenting work by the MPD police officers.”
