Choo leaves game with sore left ankle

DETROIT (AP) — Texas outfielder Shin-Soo Choo has left Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers with a sore left ankle.

The Rangers said the move was purely precautionary. Texas led 8-1 in the sixth inning when Choo was pulled.

The last thing the Rangers need is another injury to a key player. Slugger Prince Fielder appears set to miss the rest of the season because of a neck problem, and Texas entered Saturday having used 39 players, tied with Toronto for the most in baseball.

Choo singled and walked Saturday after starting in left field.
