Primary voter registration deadline approaches

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The deadline to register to vote in the primary for Maryland’s governor’s race is June 3.

The Maryland State Board of Elections announced Tuesday that June 3 also is the deadline to change party affiliation. It’s also the last day voters can update an address or request an alternate polling place for this election.

Seventeen-year-olds who will be 18 or older on or before the Nov. 4 general election can vote in June 24 primary.

Residents with a Maryland driver’s license or Motor Vehicle Administration identification card can register to vote, change their address or party affiliation online at https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration .

Paper voter registration applications must be hand delivered or mailed to the voter’s local board of elections.
