Top 10 Memorial Day destinations

Tourists visiting Washington for the three-day Memorial Day weekend may spend less than they would have last year, at least for lodging.

Priceline.com says the average daily hotel room rate in Washington this weekend is $139, down 4 percent from last Memorial Day. Washington also makes Priceline’s Top 10 list for Memorial Day destinations, at No. 6.

Memorial Day travel, based on Priceline bookings, is almost entirely domestic, with London being the only city outside of North America to make the top 50 destinations.

  5. Orange County, Calif.
  6. Washington, D.C.
