This is the space that will soon hold a four-level underground garage, a 50,000-square-foot Harris Teeter grocery store and a nine-story apartment building.

These photos, from Donohoe Construction, show the progress over time at the 8300 Wisconsin Avenue project, from Bethesda-based developer StonebridgeCarras.

Crews started blasting and excavating the site in August. The photos show why that blasting was necessary — broken rock litters the site. Last month, Donohoe put in a tower crane to help build out the 359-unit project. It is expected to be completed next year.
