DC metro gas prices down a penny from last week

WASHINGTON (AP) — Gas prices in the D.C. metro area are down a penny from a week ago.

In its weekly report released Sunday, AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.64, down from $3.65 a week ago. The price is 8 cents higher than this time a year ago, when the price was $3.56.

The price of gas in the region is a penny below the national average. The national average for a gallon of unleaded is $3.65, the same as a week ago.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the District of Columbia alone is $3.85, down 2 cents from a week ago.
