ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Del. Ron George is focusing his campaign platform on economic issues in his bid for the Republican nomination for governor of Maryland.

In a recent interview about his campaign, George says a long list of tax and fee increases in recent years are hitting a larger number of people in the state.

George wants a 10 percent personal income tax cut. He’s also campaigning to reduce the state’s 8.25 percent corporate tax rate to 6.25 percent.

The two-term delegate from Anne Arundel County also says his experience in small business as a jewelry store owner has made him better understand challenges faced by small business owners.
