Braves manager ejected in 5th inning

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez was ejected for arguing a call in the fifth inning against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Pitcher Aaron Harang stayed in the batter’s box after his attempt to sacrifice Andrelton Simmons to third base with none out. Catcher Yadier Molina pounced on the ball and threw to third with shortstop Jhonny Peralta covering for a tag play and Peralta had an easy relay to first for a double play.

Gonzalez left the field twice and came back to protest home plate umpire Ron Kulpa’s call.
