Jets sign QB Tajh Boyd, 4 other draft picks

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets signed five more draft picks, including quarterback Tajh Boyd, to four-year contracts.

Wide receiver Shaquelle Evans, a fourth-rounder; linebacker Jeremiah George, a fifth-rounder; and a pair of sixth-rounders — wide receiver Quincy Enunwa and linebacker IK Enemkpali — were also signed Thursday. New York has reached deals with seven of its 12 draft picks.

Boyd, a sixth-round selection, set 57 school and Atlantic Coast Conference records at Clemson. He will likely compete with Matt Simms for the No. 3 quarterback spot.

Evans had nine touchdown catches for UCLA last season. George led the Big 12 with 133 tackles last year at Iowa State.

Enunwa set a Nebraska record with 12 touchdowns last season. Enemkpali finished third in Louisiana Tech history with 17 1/2 career sacks.
