Tyler Sash pleads not guilty in Iowa scooter chase

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) — Former New York Giants safety Tyler Sash has pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with an alleged scooter chase in Iowa.

Court records show Sash entered the written plea on misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts. A message left for his attorney was not immediately returned Wednesday.

Sash, who played at Iowa, was arrested early Saturday in Oskaloosa, about 80 miles southwest of Iowa City. Police say Sash led officers on a four-block chase with a motorized scooter before running into a wooded area.

Sash was eventually shocked with a stun gun and taken to the county jail. He was later released.

Records show Sash did not appear during a Wednesday court hearing. Another hearing is scheduled for June 17.
