BALTIMORE (AP) — WMAR staffers are believed to be safe after a man drove a truck into the lobby, and the TV station is scrambling to cover the incident while they away from their equipment.

Reporters, news anchors and other employees tweeted what they saw Tuesday as police continued to search for a man who witnesses said claimed to be God.

News Director Kelly Groft told The Associated Press in a phone interview that station believes everyone inside evacuated safely.

Carolyn Micheli, spokeswoman for the E. W. Scripps Co., which owns the ABC affiliate, said one of the station’s TV trucks was off the property on assignment and a second one is heading to Baltimore from its Washington bureau. Micheli says the trucks likely will be used to do WMAR’s 5 p.m. newscast.
