Seaford police search for Md. man in shooting

SEAFORD, Del. – Police in Seaford are seeking a man following an exchange of gunfire near a school.

No one was hurt when shots were fired Thursday outside West Elementary School, although police say students were having a field day and the school went on lockdown.

Officers said Saturday they’re looking for 28-year-old James Markell Frazier of Cambridge, Maryland. He’s charged with reckless endangering, conspiracy and a gun charge.

Two cars were spotted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sussex Avenue and Stein Highway, near the school. Seaford Police Capt. Gary Flood says information about one of them led to its discovery at a rental agency in Maryland. Evidence about the person who rented it helped officers identify Frazier.

Officers have also carried out a search of a Cambridge home.
