BC’s Anderson to play senior season at Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Ryan Anderson, a two-time all-ACC player at Boston College, will transfer to Arizona for his senior season.

Arizona confirmed reports of Anderson’s move in a news release Friday. The 6-foot-9 forward will be eligible for the 2014-15 season.

Anderson, a standout high school player from Lakewood, California, averaged 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in his three seasons at Boston College. With 1,282 points, he ranks 22nd on the Eagles’ career scoring list.

Arizona coach Sean Miller called Anderson “an incredibly productive basketball player” and “a high-character person” whose addition will help the Wildcats at what the coach called a crucial time.

As a junior last season, Anderson averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 73.9 percent from the free throw line.
