Teen charged with rape in Md. school hallway

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — Authorities in Wicomico County have charged a 17-year-old Delmar boy with raping a 15-year-old girl in the hallway of their high school.

Charging documents state the teen made sexual advances toward the girl at Parkside High School in Salisbury after classes started Monday morning, then pulled her down a hallway, where the assault occurred.

The 17-year-old has been charged as an adult with first- and second-degree rape, first- and second-degree assault, kidnapping and other offenses. Online court records show he was released on $100,000 bond. The Associated Press generally does not identify juveniles accused of crimes or victims of sexual assault.

Superintendent John Fredericksen says officials will review security procedures at the school.
