Northbound George Washington Parkway reopens

WASHINGTON — Police closed the northbound George Washington Parkway north of the Memorial Bridge for nearly six hours after a single-car accident.

All lanes were blocked between the Memorial Bridge and the Roosevelt Bridge.

They reopened just before 6 a.m.

U.S. Park Police say the accident happened after midnight and involved life- threatening injuries.
