Woman dies in Southeast D.C. house fire

WASHINGTON– Police tell WTOP that a woman has died after a house fire this morning in Southeast D.C.

The fire, which occurred in the Berry Farm neighborhood, also sent two children and two other adults to the hospital with serious burns and smoke inhalation.

District of Columbia firefighters responded to the blaze early Saturday morning.It had spread to both the first and second floors of the home. One of the adults had been injured trying to rescue the others, who had been trapped inside.

No further details were available Saturday evening.
