Fire and rescue units are on the scene of a serious single vehicle accident on the inner loop of the Beltway near River Road.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday and reportedly involves an overturned van with nine victims, most of whom are kids.

A 25-year-old victim is being transported to Suburban Hospital, according to scanner traffic.

Traffic is getting by the accident to the left. MCFRS is being assisted by a mass casualty unit from Fairfax County.
