Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown lands more tenants

Downtown Crown, a mixed-use project that will include retail and nearly 540 apartments, has announced five new tenants for the development, including a pizza restaurant, a bank and a hair salon.

Downtown Crown development manager JBGR Retail says the project is now about 66 percent leased.

New tenants include mobile phone retailer ZAGG, hair and nail salon Body by Bio, &pizza (pronounced “and pizza”) and Crown Cleaners. All are expected to open this spring and summer.

They join previously signed tenants that include Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Coastal Flats and Verizon Wireless. LA Fitness, Starbucks and Harris Teeter are already open.

Cadence Apartments will begin letting renters move in by the end of February.

JBG Rosenfeld Retail and the Bozzuto Group acquired the land in July 2012.

Downtown Crown is part of the larger, 182-acre master-planned community of Crown, which may include as many as 2,200 residential units.
