Game of Thrones ad: Is D.C. the next Westoros?

WASHINGTON — Winter has come and conquered, but “Game of Thrones” fans still have a few more weeks to wait until the season premiere of the HBO hit series.

If April 6 seems too far away to dive back into the fantasically bloody world of Westoros, consider replying to a curious Craigslist ad posted four days ago.

Game of Thrones D.C. is seeking a few good men and women to help create a map of D.C. neighborhoods that mirrors the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos.

“This will be a serious undertaking requiring research into D.C. neighborhoods,” an organizer told Washington City Paper in an email.

“For example, should the White House represent King’s Landing? Should Takoma Park be ‘The Wall?’ I, for one, think Columbia Heights is the perfect Winterfell,” the organizer tells the City Paper.

The ad calls for applicants who are not meek — sorry Theon Greyjoy fans — and must enjoy beer, have a “moderate to strong knowledge of GOT,” and be “able to help recruit new soldiers.”
