Delta goes ’80s for safety video

WASHINGTON – The pre-flight safety warnings are usually the most boring part of a flight – and that’s saying something. But Delta is taking a creative approach to keeping people watching and listening, and their latest effort is as tight as a pair of Spandex pants.

The latest offering from the airline (via Adweek) is a pure 1980s trip, complete with a guest appearance from Alf, as well as other artifacts from the era, such as Devo hats, Rubik’s Cubes, mile-high hair and a special treat for “Airplane!” fans who stick it out to the very end.

It’s not Delta’s first attempt to make something interesting out of the instructions for a seat belt – previous efforts have included robots, accordions and awkward bathroom moments. But none of them are as radical as this:
