WASHINGTON — A year ago, 23-year-old Antonio Delonte Ross was shot and left for dead on the street where he grew up.

Prince George’s County Police are back on the scene now – the 1600 block of Tulip Avenue in District Heights – to see if they can solve his murder, which occurred in the evening of Jan. 18, 2013.

“We still love him and we miss him very much,” said neighbor Belinda Lindsay, whose sons grew up with Delonte Ross. “He actually died in my son’s arms.”

Kevin Waldron is also a neighbor on the street of well-kept townhouses in District Heights. He remembers Delonte Ross fondly, as a “good kid,” who “played played drums, keyboard, guitar – he had an ear for music.”

County police spent a cold Saturday night this week knocking on doors, seeking information that might solve the crime. They are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the killer.

In a press release last year, police said the suspect(s) fled the scene of the crime in a silver Chrysler 300, which was later recovered in Washington, D.C., on fire. Detectives believed the crime was not random and that Delonte Ross was targeted.

The neighbors miss Antonio and they want justice. “I hope they catch him,” said Waldron.
