BREAKING: Fire at Columbia Pike Days Inn

(Updated at 12:00 p.m.) Firefighters are on the scene of fire at the Days Inn on Columbia Pike.

The fire started in a motel room, according to the Arlington County Fire Department Twitter account. The blaze was quickly extinguished, no injuries have been reported and firefighters are now packing up their equipment.

Earlier, flames and smoke could be seen from the third floor of the motel, located at 3030 Columbia Pike. Early video of the incident shows a significant amount of smoke coming from the structure.

The eastbound lanes of Columbia Pike are currently blocked in the area of the motel.
