WASHINGTON – No, it isn’t your imagination. Those people sitting next to you on Metro Sunday were not wearing pants.

It’s a yearly publicity stunt called the “No Pants Subway Ride” that was started in 2002 by the group Improv Everywhere.

Now it’s become a global phenomenon, taking place this year in more than 60 cities worldwide.

On Sunday, for the 12th year, more than 100 riders stripped down to their skivvies and boarded the Metro.

Starting at a park near the L’Enfant Metro Station, they finished their stunt at Dupont Circle.
