WASHINGTON – Metro’s Red Line is no longer single tracking after a broken rail caused delays Tuesday morning.

Trains were single tracking between Rhode Island Avenue and Fort Totten because of a broken rail at the Brookland station. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority reported the delay at about 5:30 a.m. and resolved the problem after 6 a.m.

WMATA says to expect residual delays following the incident.
