Wind Chill-Priced Chips, Queso Tuesday In Bethesda

California Tortilla (file photo)California Tortilla, purveyor of free ice cream, “virtual” pinatas and presidential burrito bowls, is embracing for Tuesday’s forecast with a wind chill-dependent deal.

Any customer who makes a purchase at any California Tortilla location, including the flagship restaurant at 4871 Cordell Ave., will get an order of chips of queso for the cost of whatever the wind chill is as of 10 a.m.

So if the wind chill is at -7 degrees, as Weather.com’s Hour By Hour forecast predicts, California Tortilla will pay you 7 cents to eat that queso.

If the wind chill gets above zero to say, 5 degrees, that order of chips and queso will cost 5 cents.

Keep in mind the restaurant will go by the wind chill at its Rockville headquarters, which shouldn’t be too far off from what you’re feeling in downtown Bethesda.
