Winter Weather Advisory For Tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for tonight and early tomorrow morning. Don’t expect much snow, but do be aware of the dropping temperatures that could put the wind chill into the single digits:

…WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO NOON EST FRIDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW… WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST FRIDAY.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE…SNOW

* ACCUMULATIONS…1 TO 3 INCHES.

* TIMING…SNOW BEGINNING THIS AFTERNOON…CONTINUING THROUGH TONIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE THIS EVENING.

* WIND CHILL…ZERO TO MINUS FIVE DEGREES.

* TEMPERATURES…LOWER 30S LATE THIS AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE MIDDLE 20S LATE THIS EVENING…THEN RAPIDLY FALLING INTO THE TEENS OVERNIGHT.

* WINDS…NORTHEAST 5 TO 10 MPH THROUGH THIS EVENING…BECOMING NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 50 MPH LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS…HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED FROM SNOW COVERED ROADS TODAY AND TONIGHT. ANY RESIDUAL MOISTURE OR SLUSH ON ROADS WILL RAPIDLY FREEZE OVERNIGHT.
