WASHINGTON – A destructive device investigation shut down Edgerly Road in Glen Burnie, Md., Thursday afternoon.
Anne Arundel County police and fire officials began investigating the possible construction of such a device after an unnamed person was taken to a local hospital Wednesday night with injuries caused by a “chemical or mechanical reaction,” police say.
Officials say the injured person lived in the home where their investigation is centered in the 900 block of Edgerly Road.
Two residents of the home have been detained for questioning by fire investigators, officials say.
Edgerly Road was closed for much of the afternoon. Police suspended their work at 6 p.m. but expected to resume their investigation Friday morning.
In the meantime, police say the home has been secured and the area is safe for residents.
Fire officials say that WTOP that Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents are also involved in the investigation.
