Special beer membership program brews in D.C.

WASHINGTON – Local beer lovers can raise a glass to the New Year, and the pours will keep coming.

D.C.-based 3 Stars Brewing Company is launching a beer membership program, called The Illuminati Reserve Society. Think of it as a benefits program for beer.

DC Beer reports the $100 membership program is the first such beer club in the area.

Registration for the exclusive group begins Jan. 2, and the program has a limited number of spots — 150 to be exact.

Members of the club get access to five 2014 limited release beers, a 10 percent discount on purchases in the 3 Stars homebrew shop, access to discounts for special growler fills in the brewery’s tasting room and invitations to the company’s special events — before tickets go on sale to the public, DC Beer reports.
