WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins Tackle Trent Williams has been selected by the National Football League to go to the 2014 Pro Bowl, the Redskins announced. The annual contest and NFL player showcase will take place Sunday, Jan. 26 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

Twenty-five-year-old Williams is in his third season with Washington and has remained among the league’s top tackles since being selected No.4 overall in the 2010 NFL Draft, according to a statement by the Redskins.

“It’s a blessing,” Williams says. “I’m definitely excited about it …. It means a lot. It lets me know my efforts didn’t go unseen. I know my teammates see it and my teammates feed off of it, but I’m definitely proud to see that my peers around the NFL recognized that also.”

Redskins Wide Receiver Pierre Garcon, cornerback DeAngelo Hall, running back Alfred Morris and linebacker Brian Orakpo were selected as alternates.

The selection of Williams marks 20 straight seasons that the team has had at least one Pro Bowl player. The only year Washington did not have a Pro Bowler in team history was 1993. Mike Shanahan has also had at least one of his players selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his 20 seasons as a coach in the NFL.
