Man shot by DC police officer

WASHINGTON – D.C. police officials say an officer shot a man in the 2200 block of Alabama Avenue SE just before 12:30 p.m. Friday.

A Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said the man was taken to a hospital and is conscious and breathing.

There is no word yet on the circumstances surrounding the incident or whether the officer was hurt.
