Target apologizes, offers discount to customers

WASHINGTON – Target has issued an apology to the nearly 40 million people who were victims of the second-biggest credit card breach in U.S. history.

In a video message posted on a Target website, CEO Gregg Steinhafel announced a 10 percent discount for customers at all U.S. stores this weekend.

He says the company will offer free credit monitoring services and will be in touch with those affected by the breach.

The discount is valid in stores only and is limited to one offer per guest in a single purchase.
