Construction Accident Leaves Worker With Life Threatening Injuries

MCFRSAn apparent construction accident Wednesday morning in Bethesda has left a worker with life threatening injuries.

The accident happened at a home construction site at Arrowood Road and Burdette Road, near the Burning Tree Club. MCFRS spokesperson Beth Anne Nesselt said units were dispatched at about 7:50 a.m. for the initial report of a pedestrian struck.

Units arrived and found an injured man, who Nesselt said was transported with serious, life threatening injuries to a local trauma center. Nesselt said police were on the scene and are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Police spokesperson Angela Cruz told MyMCMedia that the construction worker was struck by a vehicle. Nesselt said a construction vehicle may have rolled over on the worker.

Burdette Road was closed for about three hours on Wednesday morning.

In September, 42-year-old John Joseph Whitney was killed at a home construction site in Glen Echo after getting accidentally pinned between a mini-excavator and the house.
