Manhole Repair Work Causing Ruckus Downtown

Shell gas station at 7628 Old Georgetown Rd.Manhole repair work apparently caused quite the ruckus on Monday night around Old Georgetown Road and Woodmont Avenue.

We got a few tips from readers wondering what the jack hammering around 9 p.m. was for. A WSSC rep pointed us to this map of ongoing repairs and pipe replacement projects.

One tipster wrote, “It started at about 9pm and it just won’t stop! I have no idea how to file a complaint about it.”

WSSC crews are doing work on a number of manholes in the immediate area, work that requires some minor excavation.

The project descriptions on the website provide some more information, plus contact information for the project manager.
