Canadian teen makes like Elvis (Video)

WASHINGTON – It’s stunning how much David Thibault sounds like Elvis Presley when he sings “Blue Christmas.” It’s almost as stunning as how easily he slips into his native French after he’s done the King’s drawl down to a T.

Either way, the 16-year-old from Quebec is making jaws drop in at least two countries and on the Internet after he sang Elvis’s holiday ode live in the studio at CKOI Quebec on Monday.

Some people are doubtful as to whether it’s really Thibault singing, but the small differences in their voices, the lack of processed echo and the imperfections in Thibault’s guitar-playing seem convincing.

He’s even got his hair styled like the young Elvis, although given the sonic similarities that’s not so surprising.
