Police: Sexual predator arrested after 10 years

WASHINGTON — Police say a 38-year-old Montgomery County man arrested for sexual assault in October may have been victimizing young adult men for a decade.

Joey Poindexter, of the 8400 block of Plum Creek Drive, was arrested on Oct. 10 after police say he met a young man at Looney’s bar in College Park on Oct. 3 and invited him back to his Gaithersburg home. At the house, police say Poindexter assaulted the victim.

The ensuing investigation revealed to police that Poindexter was possibly a longtime sexual predator and there may be other victims.

A Montgomery County Police Department press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. Police say more details will be released then.
