WASHINGTON — Martin Walsh’s phone rang on Election Day a few minutes after the result’s of Boston’s mayoral race were announced — it was Joe Biden, the vice president, calling to congratulate him.

The only problem: Biden called the wrong Marty Walsh.

Boston.com reports the Marty Walsh Biden called was sitting on his couch with his wife when his phone rang, while the Marty Walsh Biden meant to call — the person who just got elected mayor of Boston — was at the Park Plaza Hotel celebrating.

Walsh told Boston.com he also got voicemails from the mayor of Minneapolis and a congresswoman from Florida.
