WASHINGTON – Surfers from around the globe descended on a European coast to get the ride of a lifetime.

Giant waves caused by storm St. Jude — which is pounding coasts in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Northern France — reached up to 100 feet in Portugal this week. These surfers didn’t want to miss out.
