Singer Chris Brown arrested in D.C., charged with assault

WASHINGTON – Singer Chris Brown and another man arrested in the District are charged with assaulting a man early Sunday morning.

The Metropolitan Police Department says that Brown, 24, and Chris Hollosy, 35, were involved in an altercation with another man at the W Hotel, on 15th Street NW, at about 4 a.m. They’ve both been charged with felony assault.

The Washington Post reports that the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and released. NBC Washington says Brown and Hollosy will likely be held until a court appearance Monday.

Brown, who the Post says was in town for a Saturday-night performance related to Howard University’s homecoming, is on probation after attacking his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna.
