Language School Makes Move To Landow Building

New location of the International School of LanguagesA Bethesda language school is making a short move that will allow for some big changes.

Language Fundamentals, which since 2006 could be found upstairs at 4823 Fairmont Ave., will open a bigger space at a ground-floor storefront of the Landow Building.

The new, nearby location (7906 Woodmont Ave.) will allow for six classrooms to hold up to 10 students each and a “modern, bright and colorful reception area.”

Owner Marian Zapata, a native Spanish speaker who started the school by teaching Spanish to children, said the school will also change its name to the International School of Languages.

The school offers adult classes in English, French and Spanish.

“We felt the need to create a new name and brand that reflects how we have evolved and the variety of languages and students we serve in our community,” Zapata said.

Zapata said the school will open in the new location on Nov. 1.
