Weekend concerts include Nine Inch Nails, Herman’s Hermits

WASHINGTON – The temperature may be dropping outside, but the local concert schedule still has several hot tickets.

Industrial pop powerhouse Nine Inch Nails is scheduled to perform Friday night at the Verizon Center.

Frontman Trent Reznor had previously teased the idea of putting Nine Inch Nails on hiatus, but his latest album, “Hesitation Marks” indicates that the industrial pop of NIN may stick around a while longer.

Also scheduled for Friday night at the Birchmere, Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits take to the stage.

Originally part of the 1960s “British Invasion” of pop groups, Herman’s Hermits soared to stardom on hits like “I’m Into Something Good” and “I’m Henry the Eighth I Am.”

Saturday at the 9:30 Club, D.C.-based Dismemberment Plan begins a two-night run.

Pop sensation Aaron Carter is scheduled to perform Sunday night at the Fillmore Silver Spring.

While the singer hasn’t released a studio album in more than 10 years, he’s been keeping his star burning bright with stints on television and an off-broadway production.
