Black Friday sales don’t offer the best deals

WASHINGTON – It’s not even Halloween, but many are itching for those Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

But this year, the deals may not be all that shoppers are hoping for, according to NBC’s “Today” show.

DealNews.com tells “Today” that last year’s numbers show that the best deals are during the first two weeks of December. For the most part, Black Friday and Cyber Monday don’t even come close on the savings.

In one example, the LEGO Ninjago Epic Dragon Battle set dropped 27 percent and the Furby doll was discounted an additional 26 percent.

For some popular toys, shoppers could bring in savings as much as 37 percent. One tip the deal site offers: Shop at a store that offers to give back the difference on a product if a lower price is found elsewhere.
