GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) – The Maryland Board of Physicians closed its investigation into the death of a woman who was treated at an abortion clinic in Germantown.

The doctor’s office shared a letter it received Tuesday from the board with The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/19Gvqia).

The action was the last in a series of reviews after an anti-abortion group filed a complaint alleging that LeRoy Carhart provided improper care to the 29-year-old woman who died days after receiving a late-term abortion.

In May, an autopsy cited natural causes in the death of the woman, who suffered a rare condition in which amniotic fluid was pushed into her blood system. State health officials also found “no deficiencies” in her care at the clinic.
