Arlington police: No pipe bomb found on South Highland Street

WASHINGTON – An investigation from Arlington Police and Fire found no pipe bomb on South Highland Street, and roads are reopened after a previous bomb threat closed off the area.

Police took a 63-year-old New York man into custody after he asked an off-duty officer for directions, who noticed he was acting strangely. The officer saw drug paraphernalia in the back of the suspect’s car, in addition to a pipe with two caps on it.

Police have taken the suspect in for questioning and they have not yet released his name.
