Whitman Students Take ‘Mindfulness’ Classes — For 30 minutes once a week over an eight-week pilot program, students at Walt Whitman High School will be get “mindfulness,” training. Basically, it’s meditation. Students will sit quietly, close their eyes and listen to their breathing. It’s an effort to reduce stress and increase focus. [Washington Post]

County Says 10-Day China Trip Was A Success — A large delegation of county officials went to China last month to establish a sister city relationship and look for Chinese economic investment in the county.
