NHL rookie passes to himself, scores fourth goal of game (Video)

WASHINGTON – Four goals? Not bad, but it’s the way San Jose Sharks rookie Tomas Hertl put his final shot in the net that’s so impressive.

With just under eight minutes to go in the third period of the Sharks’ blowout win over the New York Rangers Tuesday night, Hertl passed the puck between his legs to himself before flipping it past Rangers goalie Marty Biron.

The Washington Post reports Hertl is the second-youngest player in NHL history to score four goals in a game, behind the Los Angeles Kings’ Jimmy Carson, who was 76 days younger than Hertl when he performed the feat in 1988.
