Man killed in head-on Va. crash

WASHINGTON – A man was killed in a head-on collision in the Franklin Farm area on Friday.

The Fairfax County police say that a little before 4 p.m. Friday, a 19-year-old, whose name they did not release, was driving west on McLearen Road, near Cobra Drive, when he left the road, then came back onto McLearen Drive still heading west, but in the eastbound lanes.

He then struck a car driven by Chris Reams, 64, of Sterling, who died at a local hospital.

Police are still working to determine the cause of the crash. They say alcohol was probably not a factor, but that charges may be pending.
